History

Since the 1970s, Thailand has seen a dramatic expansion in all aspects of its petroleum and petrochemical industries. Recognizing their vital role in the development of the country, the Petroleum Institute of Thailand was established on 26 September 1985 with support from the government, academic and private sector interests. 

The Institute operates as a non-profit foundation.
