To support its day-to-day operations, PTIT operates by membership contributions.
Basic Principles The structure of the membership contribution is based on the following principles:
That the total annual contribution should cover the expenses for the annual operation, including any shortfall of funds accruing from the previous year. The annual operation will include public service programs as well as activities in the pursuance of the Institute's intermediate and long-term missions, such as activities leading to the establishment of an Information Service or the enhancement of the capabilities of teaching and research institutions.
That consideration for long-term difficulties must be taken into account when designing the membership contribution formula, i.e., there should be some reserve built into the formula.
That the Institute should have as broad as possible a base of membership to encourage involvement of many parties.
The contribution amount must be approved by the Council of Trustees on annual basis.
