Code of Practice

Codes of Practice prepared under the auspices of the PTIT are drafted with the help of the petroleum and petrochemicals industry, based on acceptable standards and with special reference to the particular circumstances of the Thai environment. They are used by the government and industry, sometimes as a reference and to provide guidelines for government agencies to draft new laws and regulations. PTIT has completed the following Codes of Practice, all pertaining to safety and environmental issues.


Code of Practice for Petroleum Tank Inspection

The Petroleum Institute of Thailand in cooperation with petroleum companies and associated sectors have produced a Code of Practice for Petroleum Tank Inspection, the purposes of which are as follows.

  • To provide petroleum companies and associated sectors with basic guidelines of large vertical steel petroleum storage tanks inspection.
  • To use as guidance for petroleum tank inspectors for prevention of potential accidents which may occur during inspection process.
  • To be submitted to government agencies for acceptance as general guidelines for regulatory issuance and implementation of petroleum tank inspection procedures.

Code of Practice for Health Risk Assessment

The purposes of the Code of Practice for “Health Risk Assessment” are as follows.
