PTIT has been engaged in various policy studies pertaining to the development of the petroleum, petrochemicals, and energy related industry. Studies are either commissioned by government agencies or the industry.

PETROCHEMICALS MASTER PLAN, THE 3rd WAVE

The study is commissioned by the Ministry of Energy for the systematic development of the Thai petrochemicals industry in the next 15 years. The study covers products selection, physical infrastructure support, environmental aspects, and the government roles. It involves 3 working teams with a group of reviewers. Team members and reviewers comprise representatives from both government agencies and the private sector, as well as PTIT staff, led by Khunying Thongtip Ratanarat, PTIT Executive Director. Study timeframe is 6 months and is targeted to be completed in early 2004.

 
 

PETROCHEMICALS BENCHMARKING

The study is commissioned by the Ministry of Industry to benchmark Thai petrochemicals industry against that of other Asian Countries. It aims to identify the salient competitiveness factors of the Thai petrochemicals industry and to set up a database system for tracking the selected factors. The result will be beneficial to both the government and the private sector in improving and enhancing our competitiveness. Target completion of the study is May 2004.
